Privacy Policy

Applies to EasyNotes for Windows (Microsoft Store and direct installs) and endpointlabz.comPublisher Satish Singhi, trading as EndpointLabzEffective 9 October 2026

EasyNotes keeps your notes on your own PC, in the folder you choose. We do not collect, receive, store or sell any information about you. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no telemetry – and the app never contacts the internet on its own.

Your notes stay on your PCIn a folder you choose. We never see them.
No connection homeEasyNotes makes no network requests. Updates come from the Microsoft Store.
No trackingNo account, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising – in the app or on this site.
Optional features ask firstThe session clipboard and AI tools (MCP) are off until you turn them on.

1What EasyNotes stores, and where

Everything EasyNotes keeps is on your device, in places you can open, copy, back up or delete yourself.

Your notesTopics, pages, spreadsheets, checklists, pictures, attached files, Transit and reminders are kept in the notes folder you pick when you set EasyNotes up (Settings › Storage shows it). Deleted items go to a trash folder inside it until you empty it.
Preferences and logsSettings, the app log, the backup log, the MCP audit log, notifications and backup history live in the app’s own data folder on your device (Settings › Storage › App Data). When EasyNotes is installed from the Microsoft Store this is the package’s private storage, which Windows removes when you uninstall the app.
Session clipboard (optional, off by default)While it is switched on, text and pictures you copy on this PC are kept in the app data folder so you can paste them into your notes later. They are deleted when EasyNotes exits and are never included in backups.
Undo historyKept in the app data folder while EasyNotes runs and deleted when it exits.
Backups (on by default)Zip archives of your notes folder and preferences, written to the backup folder you choose and kept for the number of days you set. You can turn backups off, change the folder, or delete the archives at any time.
Synced folders

If your notes or backup folder is synchronised by OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or another service, that service copies the files under its own terms and privacy policy. EasyNotes does not talk to those services; it only writes files into the folder you chose.

2What EasyNotes reads from your PC

  • Files you import – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, CSV, web pages, code and other files are read only when you choose them, and a copy is placed in your notes folder. The original is never changed.
  • OneNote – only when you start the optional OneNote import. EasyNotes asks the OneNote desktop app on your PC for the notebooks you tick and copies them into your notes folder. OneNote is read, never changed.
  • The Windows clipboard – only while the session clipboard is switched on (Settings › Session Clipboard).
  • Time zones – the world clocks in the header use the time-zone data that is already on your PC. No network request is made.

EasyNotes runs as a standard user and never asks for administrator rights.

3AI tools (MCP) – off unless you switch it on

EasyNotes can offer your notes to AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol, through a local connection that only programs on your own PC can reach (the loopback address 127.0.0.1). It is off by default. When you switch it on in Settings › MCP:

  • each AI tool gets its own token with the scope you choose (read, write or full), and you can revoke it at any time;
  • every change an AI tool makes is shown in the app’s notification bell and written to the audit log on your PC;
  • the rules you write for AI tools are sent to the tool with each session.

What a connected AI tool does with the notes it reads – including sending them to its own service – is governed by that tool’s terms and privacy policy, not by this one. Choose your tools and scopes accordingly. EasyNotes itself never sends your notes anywhere.

5Organisations

If your PC is managed by an organisation, its administrators can set some EasyNotes settings through Group Policy or Intune – for example where notes are kept, backups, the session clipboard and AI tools. Those settings show as “Managed by your organisation”. Your organisation’s own policies apply to the data on its devices; this policy describes only what the app itself does.

6Your choices and control

  • You can see, change, export or delete everything EasyNotes stores – it is all in your notes folder, your backup folder and the app data folder, and Settings › Storage opens each of them.
  • Uninstalling EasyNotes removes its settings, logs and caches. Your notes folder and your backups are kept until you delete them, so you cannot lose your notes by accident.
  • The session clipboard, backups and AI tools can each be switched off in Settings at any time.

7Children

EasyNotes is a general-purpose notes app with no account and no content from the internet. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

8Changes to this policy

If a new feature changes how EasyNotes handles information, this page is updated before that version is released and the effective date above changes. The current policy is always at endpointlabz.com/privacy, and Settings › About in the app links here.
